Getting to know a stranger can be tricky - especially when that stranger is ourselves.
If you are recovering from trauma, anxiety, depression, or an addiction to drugs or alcohol, you have begun the admirable journey of reconnecting with your truest, most authentic self. Maybe you feel overwhelmed by new emotions. Maybe you feel out-of-touch with old passions, or lost as to what your passions even are. You may feel confused about how to trust yourself and how to make decisions that are helpful for you and your loved ones. In a new journey of recovery from a mental health disorder or a substance use disorder, all of these experiences are completely expected. As a therapist, my desire is to walk alongside you in these times as you connect with your inner wisdom.
I have experience providing therapy in inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment, where I have worked with substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, complex developmental trauma, PTSD after traumatic experiences, codependency, and issues of shame and low self-worth. In regard to treating substance use addiction, I have worked with individuals who resonate with a wide variety of approaches - including SMART Recovery, Recovery Dharma, AA/NA, MAT (e.g. Suboxone, Sublocade, Vivitrol), spiritual or holistic healing, CBT, DBT, and narrative therapy. My main focus is to help you navigate your own journey and understand the tools that help you grow. I want to be your advocate and your support as you find what recovery means to you.
So grateful for the chance to get to know you.
