Join this live virtual workshop (Continuing Education Credit Available: 3 NBCC credit hours) to learn how to incorporate somatics into your counseling practice. This learning environment will consist of lecture and experiential exercises.

Upon Completion, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe a basic understanding of the Polyvagal Theory, including characteristics of each of the 3 primary nervous system states

  2. Identify how eating disorder (ED) behaviors function as misguided attempts for self-regulation, perpetuating nervous system dysregulation and the use of behaviors

  3. Utilize practical, somatic interventions in conjunction with "top down" therapeutic modalities to improve client outcomes

Meet the Instructor

Rachel Sellers (she/her), MS, LPC-MHSP, is a therapist with experience treating eating disorders in both higher levels and outpatient care. She recently completed her beginning year of Somatic Experiencing training and is passionate about integrating somatic practices and trauma-informed care with more traditional "top down" approaches more typically seen in eating disorder treatment.
