Join this NBCC Approved Workshop (3 CEs) to learn how to incorporate somatics into your counseling practice. This learning environment will consist of lecture and experiential exercises.
Upon Completion, participants will be able to:
Describe the role the body plays in overcoming trauma & mental wellness.
Develop an embodied understanding of how bringing the body into the conversation deepens the human experience.
Utilize somatic interventions in conjunction with their existing therapeutic modalities to improve client outcomes.
Meet the Instructor
Megan Thomas, MA, LPC-MHSP, SEP is a Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health Service Provider and an Approved LPC-MHSP Supervisor in the state of Tennessee. She is a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner and is certified in Somatic Attachment Therapy. Megan has advanced training in autistic-affirming Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for individuals with OCD and brings a neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed lens to her clinical and teaching work.
Megan is currently pursuing advanced training with Full Embodiment in Healing Sexual Trauma and Sexuality, further deepening her integrative, body-based approach to working with trauma, attachment wounds, and embodied healing. Her work is informed by somatic, attachment-based, and nervous-system–oriented frameworks, with an emphasis on consent, safety, and client empowerment.
As a continuing education instructor, Megan is known for her warm, grounded teaching style and her ability to translate complex clinical concepts into practical, embodied tools clinicians can immediately apply in their work. She is passionate about supporting clinicians in developing greater attunement, self-trust, and nervous system awareness.
